- When you arrive at Abel Veterinary Clinic, you can expect quality care for your pet. You will be greeted warmly as we check you in at the front desk. We will do our best to make sure you are brought into an examination room as soon as we have one available. Our goal is to make sure all of our patients are seen on time, but occasionally there are unexpected delays due to an emergency or because we are providing care for a patient that needs a little more time. Please accept our apologies should this occur and understand that the same dedication and courtesy will be provided to your pet should they ever need it. We invite you to enjoy a cup of coffee or ask for a water from the receptionist.
- Once checked in, a team member will get your pet’s weight, history, and gather basic information about the reason for your visit. Our veterinarian, Dr. Davis, will then meet with you and your pet after getting briefed and examine your pet, answer your questions, address your concerns, and make a treatment plan including diagnostics when needed. We try to perform as many treatments and procedures in the examination room as possible so please alert the team if you had rather not see needles or blood draws. Some pets do better away from family or may require a muzzle; we have a lovely treatment area we can use or family members can wait in the lobby. We take pride in making your pet feel comfortable and limit stress so occasionally sedatives may be recommended for some patients prior to visits. Please alert the staff if your pet has specific needs, limitations, or may be aggressive.
- After your veterinary consultation, you will return to the front desk to check out and make any future appointments needed.
